The Incredible Shrinking Crocs

What do you get when you take one pair of Crocs Prima flats, two 90+ degree days, and one back seat of a car? You get shrunken Crocs. *sigh*

Please disregard my sorry excuse for a pedicure. They're haggard.

I wear a size 7 and that's the size these Crocs WERE before they camped in my Honda.

I especially like how one shrunk significantly more than the other.

Why would one shrink more than the other??

The right one curled up and was at least two sizes smaller.

Kimberly googled it and suggested putting them in the dryer on low for 3 minutes. I did some googling of my own and learned a LOT of people have Croc shrinkage. (*snort* reminds me of a Seinfeld episode...) A popular resolution was to boil the shoes for 2-3 minutes, drain, let cool for a sec, then put them on so they mold to your foot. Seeing as how boiling your shoes is WAY more fun that tossing them in the dryer (too much like manual labor and less like a science experiment), I pulled out the stock pot and got to work.

Everyone in the pool!!!

Unfortunately, the suckers float so I had to hold them into the water. My hands got quite the steaming.

Flip!!!

After 2-3 minutes in the bath, it was time for a quick shake and on my feet! It took a couple trips in the bath to get them just right especially since the right shoe needed far more TLC than the left.
Much better!!! Almost the same length :)

The right shoe is nearly flat again!!

It's was a success! The shoes don't fit quite like they did before, but they'll do. It just means I'll have to wear them less. I know Tracey, Leslie and EVERYONE (including me) will be thrilled :)

I am laughing out loud! This was hilarious. Not what I expected from this blog, but very pleased none the less.

This is hilarious!!!! The picture by picture story is what made it so fabulous I think!

I will own up to looking for a pair of Croc flats for walking downtown--no luck yet but I figure if I'm going to lower myself (pun intended!!) to flats that I might as well be really, really comfortable for the walk!

Glad you girls were more amused than Al was...hahahaha!

Les - Dick's Sporting Goods have them - you can try on a pair to see.

I LOVE science experiments!! In fact, since I never wear them yet want to to freak all you fashionistas out, I have a pair of bright yellow CLOGS that I'm tempted to set out in the sun all day...

And yes I really do own them. They first came on the scene when I was living in CO (their birth place) and, well, when in Rome...

When I was in Rome I drank a lot of Guinness and threw up in an alley. That's about as bad as yellow crocs I guess ;) xoxo

This site just gets more educational by the day.

BYW-If ANYONE sees Leslie wearing a pair of crocs on the city streets of Lou, take a picture because there is no way I would ever believe it!!!
