Beward the Ides of November?!

Boy did that sinus stuff really catch up to me! I've spent the past two days covered up w/a fever and blowing my nose. Fortunately, the fever broke mid-afternoon yesterday and I'm on my way to feeling much better. It's amazing how the body works, you know? The fever worked hard to kill the infection I have going on and by just letting it run its course, I'm well on my way to feeling back to normal.

Today's outfit is a great example of dressing to make you feel better. I missed the past two days of work but HAD to work today (the weekend) so I dressed in bright colors in hopes of perking up. It worked!

Cardi: NY&Co.

Birdy graphic t: Old Navy ($2.49!!!!!!)

Wide-leg jeans: Old Navy

Green Heels: Ralph Lauren

horseshoe necklace: gift

Old Navy recently had their 30% off friends & family event and I snagged this shirt off clearance for $2.49! I've not usually a fan of tshirts because most are crew neck and that's just not a good look for me. However, this is a v-neck so I couldn't say no.

I also picked up a Party Cardi at Old Navy and a cute top for layering. Keep a look out for those in the next week or so! I can't wait to wear them. What did you get at Old Navy with your 30% off coupon?

Tuesday -- Ally

Today's outfit took a turn for comfortable as soon as I got to work so I had to take new pics. I originally had the shirt buttoned and belted. However, as much as I love this Lands' End tank, it's SO SHORT and I was tugging and pulling. I can't stand that, so I unbuttoned the shirt, belted the tank and I was much more comfortable. Still need to find a tank that covers the girls and is long. Suggestions??
Button down shirt: Old Navy

Black tank: Lands' End

Black pants: Old Navy

Patent belt: Walmart

Patent peep-toe wedges: Ralph Lauren

I clearly cleaned up not only at Zappos, but at Old Navy during their Friends/Family event. I love a good sale!!
I really love these shoes and am pretty sure I'll get my $27.50 out of them very soon. They have the height I need with most of my pants but the wedge allows them to be comfortable enough for a day of walking.

The shoes...again. I love the detail on the back of the heel - click through to see it:

Monday -- Ally

I'm still on a purple kick! I might have too many purple sweaters!!!

Purple jeweled cardi: NY&Co.

Orange button-down: JC Penney

brown pants: Old Navy

shoes: Ralph Lauren

Necklace: Value City

Sunnies: Max Studio

Sorry I forgot my sunglasses were on my head! They weren't part of my outfit, but I wear them everywhere.

I also wear these green shoes with everything. They're my favorites! It's funny how stuff fits differently when you've not worn it for a few months. Usually I have to tape this shirt closed, but not today. It helped I was wearing a cardigan over it, but I was thrilled it was a little looser than when I wore it last.
I love love love this necklace and it was under $6!

Thursday -- Ally

Our weather sure is temperamental! I guess that's just like Spring for you, huh??

Sheer blouse: Target

Pink t-shirt: H&M

Pants: JCPenney

green croc heels: Ralph Lauren

Belt: Walmart

Necklace: Gift

Bracelet: from Me-Maw

There's a lot more going on in this outfit than what's easily seen. Subtlety, kittens. ;)

I love pink and green together but not PINK AND GREEN, ya know? I also really love this blouse but it's thisclose to being a wardrobe malfunction if the proper foundation is overlooked. Even a tank looks slut-tastic to me, so I always go for something with a small sleeve just so I'm covered.

Some details:
Mama bought this for me years ago. She no doubt bought it on clearance because she's awesome like that.

I wear the heck out of these shoes. Ralph Lauren makes an excellent shoe and worth every cent. I've said it before, but green is definitely a neutral for me.

From last time I wore this blouse. Looks like I like pink with it!

My special Me-Maw bracelet :) I'd rather wear someone else's monogram than mine. Not b/c I don't love mine, b/c I do on bags and the like, but it's sorta like having a tattoo with your last name or something. Think you're gonna forget it, buddy?

Word of advice: If you've had a couple of drinks, don't ask the big dude next to you at the bar if he's afraid he'll forget his name. That won't go over well.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to ME!!

So Tracey and I had lofty plans for beer and celebrating today, but we quickly realized we'd much rather go shoe shopping and grab dinner together! I'm so glad we did!

As I've mentioned the Zappos.com outlet is about 15 minutes from Louisville, so I get some AWESOME deals. Today was no exception and I think it might be my best haul ever. We usually try to get a 20% off coupon out of a local magazine, but there wasn't one this month. Fortunately for us, there was a big "50% off everything, no print coupons" sign on the door. SWEET!

The haul:
Lauren by Ralph Lauren $108.95 retail $27.50
LAUREN RALPH LAUREN Women's Emma

Clarks Ericka $85.00 retail $21.50
Clarks Erika - Women's Heel

Cole Haan Carma OT Air Pump $274.95 retail $69.00

Kate Spade Elsie $327.95 retail $49.20
These are in a shiny gold, not ivory/white. I can't find a pic of them in the gold, but trust me, they're FAB.

Kate Spade Katie $294.95 retail $44.40

Hunter Festival tall boots $144.95 retail $36.50
Hunter - Festival Tall (Black) - Footwear

I spent a total of $262.99 (including tax) and saved...are you ready...$988.65!! Now, I'd never EVER pair retail for all of these shoes, but I ended up getting everything 80% off retail...heck of a deal if you ask me!!!!!! If you're near Louisville or will be soon, I recommend hitting exit 116 off I-65 and visiting Zappos.com!!!

We also went to T.J. Maxx and I found my Derby hat. However, that'll be kept under wraps until the First Saturday in May :)

Wednesday -- Ally

The look you see on my face is exhaustion from a long day at work. I promise I didn't stay up too late celebrating with friends :D Today was a "uniform day."

Cardi: NY&Co.

Cami: Old Navy

Pants: Old Navy

Tights (unseen): Target

Shoes: Ralph Lauren

Scarf: via Athena

I LOVE this scarf. I'm not one to wear yellow as it usually looks like garbage on me, but this shade is just orange enough to not make me look dead.

So yesterday KT was smart enough to predict Mrs. Obama would be wearing gold and I must have channeled Malia b/c we both wore blue and black. I have a Sasha accessory in mind for next week so stay tuned!

TGIF - Ally

Nothing too exciting today. I feel very SKee-Wee in today's hot pink and green though! It's a good holiday combo too for those who can't wear red well. I don't look good in most reds, so this is a great way to wear red/green w/out looking like a tree OR wearing red. :)

Cardi: NY&Co.

Pink gathered tshirt: H&M

Green lace cami: Old Navy

Pants: Old Navy (same as the others I love, except in brown)

Shoes: Ralph Lauren (same as yesterday. I love them SO MUCH)

Necklace: Sarah Balmer (same as yesterday. See a pattern??)

I don't have a lot to say about today's outfit other than I think I have a uniform. Pants, cardi, and a top underneath. I pretty much wear the same combo of things all winter b/c 90% of the time, I'm too lazy to pull on tights and a dress in the morning.

Close up of necklace and tops. I love how the pink and green bring out the colors in this necklace. When I wore it yesterday it was very muted and the purple came through.

Who else loves these camis? Every time I order from Old Navy I pick up a few more. I probably have them in every color at this point! They're on sale for $5 right now!

Women: Women's Lace Jersey-Knit Camis - Florentine

Thursday -- Ally

Today is our holiday party at work, and I'm awfully excited about seeing my colleagues and catching up. We don't all get together often, but always have a great time when we do.

The quality of this picture is terrible too - I really need to spend some time with my camera settings!

Cardi - New York & Co.

black top - Old Navy

Pants - Old Navy

Necklace - Sarah Balmer

Nude fishnets - TJ Maxx

Green snakeskin heels - Ralph Lauren

I got a STEAL on this cardigan at NY&Co. They're all buy one get one 75% off, so snag 'em while you can. I also used my AAA card for an extra 15% off so they were both $45 even (including tax). I got this great purple one and a lime green one. Great deal!

You can see the details a little better in this pic:

City Style Jeweled Cardigan

These are the same style pant as yesterday but in the short length. Now...look carefully. That's right. There's no real difference. There are no words at how much this irritates me. I'm only 5'3. Short length pants should fit fine. Average/medium length should require a heel. These are short and they require a heel. I need to get them hemmed so I can wear flats more.

Today's shoes are some of my favorites. I've decided that for me, green gets to be a neutral. It's right there with black, brown, tan, red, and animal print :D

Starting today and through 12/24, New York & Co is having 50% off everything AND free shipping. Yeah. I know, right??

Classic Denim and Tweed

Tweed Jacket: Ralph Lauren

Jeans: CAbi

Turtleneck: Express

Boots: Marisa

Funny story on this jacket...it was a gift probably eight years ago. At the time I didn't like it. It just felt too "old" for me when I was in college. My mom pretty much took it from my closet and wore it for several years. Then all of a sudden I graduated and my style began to mature and I decided an asymmetrical tweed jacket was pretty cute with jeans or a pencil skirt, I claimed my jacket back!

What items have you had in your closet that you haven't liked at first but grew on you over time as your style evolved?

Monday - Ally

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was good. Cold, but good :) I look so tired in today's pic but I promise I'm wide awake! The pic is super dark too...boo!

Purple ruffle cardi: Old Navy

Green lace cami: Old Navy

Brown pants: Old Navy

Green heels: Ralph Lauren

Tan fishnets: TJMaxx

Pearls: gift

I'm a little matchy w/the Old Navy, but whatever. My goodies from the Friends & Family 30% off came in!

Cute, huh??

I'm so in love with these shoes. I saw them on Piperlime a few weeks ago but they weren't on sale. Put them on sale plus another 30% off? I can't resist!

I also picked up one of their canvas pea coats in pink. I wasn't sure how it'd fit, but it turned out great. For $17, I couldn't go wrong!

It looks like they're sold out in most color/sizes, so if you want one, you better hurry. It's not lined and isn't really that warm. However, I'm hot most of the time, even in the winter, so it's perfect for me and my many layers.

Now I need some long gloves so my little arms don't get cold!

Happy HOWLoween! - Ally

I hate Halloween. I don't like dressing up and don't get excited about it. However, Al LOVES Halloween and that means I have to play along. We're going out tonight and expect pictures over the weekend. That's all I'm saying...hahahaa

Sweater: Ralph Lauren (I got a DEAL on this. Do a search for some coupon codes and you can get it cheaper that what's online now.)

Scarf: vintage Vera, via ebay

Pants: Old Navy

Quilted patent peep toes: Target

I've gotten a surprising amount of comments today on this sweater - I had no idea it'd be so popular :) It's soooo soft and if I could afford it, I'd have it in every color! I wish the detail on the top pic was better but you can see it online. The cables are in a chevron pattern so it's super flattering.

This color is much more accurate of the sweater. It worries me with HOW ORANGE it is, but it's still cute and I loooove it.

It's silk and was originally $159 and I got it for $35!!

While I hate Halloween (greedy kids!), I do love dressing up the dog for it! Maddy's a good sport most of the time and this is a picture from 2003 or 2004. She looks so young in it too! She'll be dressing up tonight along with her Aunt Ginger and if everyone cooperates, we'll have pics of that tomorrow too!
