Am I missing something? Are there no tights for short ladies? I'm 5'3 and wear a size 14 and I can't find a damn pair of tights to fit me. If they're the right size for my booty, they're WAY too long. It's like they assume all big girls are also tall girls and all short girls are also small girls. This isn't the case, yo!
My patterned tights are SO CUTE yet you can't see the pattern except on the very top of my thighs (that my skirt covers thankyouverymuch). I'm constantly pulling them up all day just so I can see the pattern and justify paying more for them.
Rant over. Bring on the picture:

It's me again, Margaret
I'm having a hell of a time finding a good spot at work to snap a pic. It's too dark in our house in the mornings and it's been too dang cold to go outside. Maybe I'll get this figured out soon 'cause I'm sure you're just DYING out there without me, right? ;)
Pencil skirt: Kohl's
Black t-shirt: Old Navy
Tights: George via Walmart
Necklace: gift
Shoes: Calvin Klein
Fake buttons: Dollar Tree
So since I have to dress up a bit more at the new job, I've had to buy some more clothes. Fortunately, I'm spoiled rotten and my sweet Mama has been going nuts at Kohl's on my behalf. Seriously, they should just rename the store "Mama's." She picked up this sweater and this skirt for me. I don't even have to try this stuff on - it's perfect! I hate shopping (but love to buy) and I can't even begin to tell you how much I've appreciated her picking up sweaters, skirts, and dresses for me and then picking up the tab!
Since I clearly don't shop for myself anymore, I have to fess up that Al even bought these tights. I knew he was stopping by Walmart after work the other night, so I told him to call me when he got there. The poor fella called and said, "Okay. I'm wandering around the lingerie section. Tell me what you want!" Of course they didn't have the plain black (non control top) tights I wanted in stock. So he used his best judgement and picked out these. He also picked out a patterned pair too. I'd have never bought either of these on my own, so I think I should send him out more often!
The only thing that I don't like about this sweater is that it just buttons at the top. I feel kinda smothered sometimes and really needed my neckline open today.
I've lost a few pounds recently so most of my pants have been too big. I was at Dollar Tree (my FAVORITE store) the other day and saw these fake buttons and thought they might be a good solution for my too-big-pants situation. They're made so you can get an extra inch out of your too-small pants, but they do a hell of a job cinching up my pants! Now, that Amazon link doesn't show the same exact buttons I bought, but they're pretty much identical AND they're only $1 for 8 buttons at the Dollar Tree. Seriously - don't buy a thing until you check Dollar Tree first. I get all our allergy medicine, office candy, cleaning supplies, and all sorts of stuff there.
Anyway, back to my sweater situation. It didn't look good unbuttoned and it was smothering me buttoned up top. I kept thinking, "Dang. If only I had buttons HERE." And a light bulb went off. Seriously, it was like one of those infomercials haha. I grabbed the two gray buttons and voila!
Each pack of 8 has 2 black, 2 gray, 2 tan and 2 brown buttons. They're fantastic and totally worth a buck.
I have been snapping pics of partial outfits here and there and may compile them into one big post if I get a chance this week. I've missed you, poodles!!!

TGIF, kittens!
Shoes: Crocs Prima flats *sigh*
I picked up this cardigan at Target the other night for next to nothing - $5 out of pocket! I had a top I returned plus a 20% off Merona coupon so after all that, I was only out $5. Not bad!! I was stumped as to what to pair this with but after a few minutes of thinking about it I said, "Screw it" and threw it on w/a black dress.
This dress was a real steal also - $25 at TJ Maxx. It's hard to see in the pic but it has some adorable pleating on the front and back. I tried to snap a pic of it but it's kinda hard to see still:
Pretty cute, huh? I love that it's cotton and loose and perfect for hot and humid days.
These shoes are a total accident. If you recall a couple of years ago, I had the misfortune of leaving my beloved Prima flats in my car and they shrank like crazy. I tried to stretch 'em out but after my little science experiment, they shrank right back and became worthless to me. Well earlier today I was at Big Lots and what do I see for $10? More Primas. They didn't have black - just Easter Egg colors. I picked up the light green (celery) and passed on the purple and blue. I may go back and get another pair because these are so perfect for the yard and for stashing under my desk at work.
I didn't want a repeat of my previous experience w/these so I put them on and ran errands in them. Then I completely forgot I had them on when I took this pic - whoops! I swear I had cute black flats on earlier!!

Transitioning to Spring...finally!
Dress: JC PenneyCardigan: Target
Flats: Sam Edelman
Michelle Obama pearls: Walmart
Bracelet: Coach
Watch: wedding gift from my sweet husband
This dress (with pockets!) is one of my favorite go-to items. It's pretty low-cut and boobilicious so I keep work-appropriate by adding a buttoned cardi. I really wish I could find more dresses with this cut as I feel it's flattering. It's not too flowy and no one (not even the bitchy lady at the dry cleaners) will ask me when I'm due!

Inspired by The Hidden Seed
Printed dress: NY&Co.
Belt: Walmart
Tights: George via Walmart

I visited a DSW shoe store for the first time recently and got a killer deal on these shoes: $45! I can't say no to shoes this cute for that price.
Cute, huh??

Houndstooth Friday
I've been in a serious style slump, kittens. I gained a couple pounds on the honeymoon (it's all in my face it seems. UGH) and nothing feels cute or blog-worthy. This outfit, however, felt great and it looked good too. However, the double chin wasn't invited to the outfit, but showed up anyway. Not sharing that. haha
Houndstooth cardigan: Target
Dress: J. Crew
Belt: Walmart
Flats: Sam Edelman
Bracelet: Forever 21
For an item I've only had for 2 weeks, this dress has already been blogged twice - it's a keeper for sure!! I took a close-up pic of the ruffles this time:
Excuse the lint. I hadn't lint-rolled myself yet :)
I'm not sure who the top of this dress is cut for, but it sure as heck isn't cut for me. I had to pin it today b/c wearing a tank under it is just not easy. Too much riding up.
I snagged this bracelet at Forever 21 earlier in the summer (or spring??) for $4:

I've worn these flats into the ground.
I wear the heck out of these shoes and I'm sure you've noticed. I've finally worn a hole in the left shoe's sole. I wish I had snapped a pic of it before I took them to the shoe doctor today. I get them back next week so I'll be sure to let you know how they look. For $25, they better be mighty fine! :)
Dress: NY&Co.
I got this on some super, crazy clearance special for $7!
Michelle Obama pearls: Walmart
Flats: Sam Edelman
If you live in the Louisville area, I can't recommend Fern Creek Shoe Repair enough. They've been in business for decades. I remember going there w/my parents when I was little and sitting on the counter. They've moved to a new location since, but the same old lady and son still work there. I always can get my shoes shined and polished ($4) while I wait and am always impressed with their ability to fix even the most broken down shoes. My almond-toe Steve Maddens were fixed in 10 minutes and for $7 earlier in the year and I'm still amazed at that - they were a MESS!!
When I pick up my Edelman's next week I'm taking some others that need some love. It's worth the price to buy good shoes for sure!

Tuesday - Ally
We had a bit of cooler weather this weekend and it was very welcome. It's been so dang hot and humid lately. Seeing 60-anything on the thermometer was a treat!
Dress: Walmart
Belt: Walmart
Michelle Obama pearls: Walmart
shoes: Cole Haan
I didn't realized until later in the day that my entire outfit came from Walmart. I go to Walmart *maybe* 6 times a year so it's kinda funny how this happened. I went there the other day to pick up some stuff for work and went through the clothes b/c I wanted to see the Miley Cyrus/Max Azria line (it's cute but definitely for teens). I saw this dress mixed in w/the workout clothes and it was marked down to $11. Score! I was hesitant b/c it was a size smaller than my usual size. I don't know about you, but I have to size UP at Walmart. Ugh. Maybe that's why I never shop there? Anyway, it was a real surprise that not only did it fit, but it looked good. So yay for me :) My dress, necklace and belt were under $25 - not bad!!

Ally - Nine West pumps
While I do a pretty good job finding cute jewelry at Forever 21, I'm also not a stick-thin 15-year-old and most of their clothing doesn't even come close to fitting me. I've not tried ordering from their other lines online, but what I've seen is very nice. The quality isn't the best, but it is a good source for something cute and trendy.
On a recent shopping trip with Tracey (see a pattern??) we swung by to see if anything would catch our eye. I made round after round in the store and FINALLY saw this top right before I left. I tried it on because I hate their return policy and much to my surprise it fit. Not only did it fit, but it's kinda too big in spots. It's really flowy and REALLY low cut. For what it's worth, I got the large. Usually a large at F21 is WAY TOO SMALL in the chest department, but I think their sizing is so skewed it's a crap shoot.
Polka dot top: F21
red tank: Target
pants: Old Navy
red pointy toe shoes: Nine West
bracelet: Walmart

Ally - Sam Edelman flats
Seeing as how I've put about a third of my outfits on the internet for you all to see, I feel as though I need to push myself a little. The reason you only see a third of them is because I'm laaazy and get comfortable with stuff and outfits and wear the same stuff/combos. It gets boring, but it does work. Great for the workplace, lousy for blogging.
I was digging in my closet the other night and realized, heh, that I have a lot of shoes. When I say "a lot" I mean "so many it's a sin." So I've decided I'm going to challenge myself to wear a different pair of shoes in each blog entry this month. That doesn't sound like a lot, but if you'll click around, you'll see I wear these flats ALL THE TIME. Al and I will eventually be moving and I have GOT to get rid of some shoes or he'll divorce me by the end of September (oh, have I mentioned we're getting married in 97 days!!!!!!!!!).
Cardigan: no idea what brand. From Marshall's
lacy cami: Old Navy
Pencil skirt: NY&Co.
long pearls: Walmart
flats: Sam Edelman
How freakin cute is this sweater? I love how it has a pearl "belt" around it.
I also love it was only $15 :)
If I have to peel myself away from my beloved flats, I'm challening you all to do the same. Break out of a rut with me! Email me at the link on the right and tell me what you're doing (send pics!!) and we'll put them on the blog!!

Tuesday -- Ally
It's Kentucky Derby Week and you know what that means: Tracey and I work as little as possible! We have a few days of big hats, small bets (well for me at least), and F-U-N fun ahead!
Dress: JCP
Belt: NY&Co.
Necklace: Walmart
Bracelets: Old Navy
Shoes: Ralph Lauren
I thought I've worn this dress on here a lot more than I actually have. Maybe I just haven't posted it. I've worn this dress here. And here. I have absolutely gotten my $19 out of it though. You can find some great deals in the clearance section on JCP's website.
Just did some quick math and this whole outfit was super cheap:
Dress $19
Belt $14
Necklace $5
Bracelets $4
Shoes: $28
Total: $70
Not bad!!

Thursday -- Ally
I've had this dress for several years but I think this is the first time I've worn it on here. I *really* think it needs to be about an inch shorter but my sewing skills just aren't there yet. Kasmira and Oh That Girl both have this and it looks so beautiful on them - they've both also hemmed theirs. Tracey has it and the length is perfect on her.
Wrap dress: Target
Belt: NY&Co
Michelle Obama pearls: Walmart
bracelets: Old Navy
Shoes: Stuart Weitzman
The amount of compliments I've received on this outfit today has really surprised me. I think since I strayed from my uniform folks noticed. hahaha
So what do you think? Hem it or no?

Weekend -- Ally
I'm admittedly a little lazy and a bit of a slacker when it comes to some stuff, and this blog entry is no different. I have a BIG weekend of horseracing, brunching, and celebrating going on, so these pics are from last weekend. I planned ahead, ladies. The only reason I even mention these are old pics, is b/c of the rain boots. You local ladies will know we have nothing but clear and sunny skies in our forecast, but last weekend was another story. Sunny then rain then sun again.
We went out with some friends and I was in no mood to get cute shoes all wet and dirty so I wore my trusty rain boots:
Cardi: Target
T-shirt: Old Navy
Denim pencil skirt: Lands' End
Leopard belt: JCP
Necklace: Ice.com (check back tomorrow for more about this necklace!)
rain boots: Payless
Per usual, you'll have to excuse the lack of make up. I usually put it on in the car en route to dinner/drinks :)
Sunday was Easter and nothing is Springy to me more than polka dots, pink and green:
Cardi: same from above, Target
Dress: Target
Belt: NY&Co.
Necklace: Walmart
Shoes: Target
Sunnies: MaxStudio
Bracelets: Old Navy
Bag: Furla
As you may remember, Leslie and I both have this dress and once, even wore it on the same day :) I've had this dress for a while and it's so versatile. Of all the places I've worn it, this is my favorite. Can you guess where I am??
Note: Not a former boyfriend; just a friend. And no, he's not an alien with no face. Merely protecting the innocent!

Tuesday -- Ally & a new 'do
I hope you all had a great weekend! Easter is one of my favorite holidays and it's mostly because I hate casseroles and most Thanksgiving/Christmas food but LOVE ham and chocolate bunnies!
Cardi: Old Navy
Pink tshirt: Target
Pants: Old Navy
Perfect shoes: Cole Haan
Michelle Obama pearls: Walmart
enamel bracelets: Old Navy
While the 'do isn't really new, I did have six inches cut off the length and the bangs shortened. My hair goddess about had a heart attack - said I'm her only bride-to-be who ever asked her to whack off her hair instead of just trimming so it'll be long long long. To me it's just hair. It's been shorter and Al still loves me.
I looooove this cardigan and wish I had it in other colors:
The shoes are delicious. They're insanely comfortable (wore them 11+ hours the first time out of the box) and look great.
I'd love to have another pair in the champagne patent. My Weitzmans are my only bone/taupe shoes and I really would like another pair:
I'm not quite the Coat Collector that Leslie is, but I did need a lighter coat for spring/fall. I'd been eyeballing this coat at Target, but I just wasn't ready to drop $40 on it quite yet. I was at Target a couple of weeks ago shopping for a baby gift and after 20 minutes in the diaper aisle, I had to cleanse the palette and do a little shopping for me. I spotted the coat on the clearance rack for 50% off, in my size, and the last one. I couldn't say no!
They still have it online for $28 and it's absolutely worth it. The lining is adorable (orange with white polka dots!!!!!) and I wish I had snapped a shot. I'll do it soon.
Speaking of wishing, I wish I had bought more of these bracelets when they were cheaper! I bought them in black and green:

Tuesday -- Ally
Today's outfit took a turn for comfortable as soon as I got to work so I had to take new pics. I originally had the shirt buttoned and belted. However, as much as I love this Lands' End tank, it's SO SHORT and I was tugging and pulling. I can't stand that, so I unbuttoned the shirt, belted the tank and I was much more comfortable. Still need to find a tank that covers the girls and is long. Suggestions??
Button down shirt: Old Navy
Black tank: Lands' End
Black pants: Old Navy
Patent belt: Walmart
Patent peep-toe wedges: Ralph Lauren
I clearly cleaned up not only at Zappos, but at Old Navy during their Friends/Family event. I love a good sale!!
I really love these shoes and am pretty sure I'll get my $27.50 out of them very soon. They have the height I need with most of my pants but the wedge allows them to be comfortable enough for a day of walking.
The shirt:
The shoes...again. I love the detail on the back of the heel - click through to see it:

Monday -- Ally
Still having issues with taking pics inside in the mornings. Soon it'll be warm enough to take them outside, so I'll stop complaining soon :)
Cardi: hand-me-down from Tracey
Satin cami: NY&Co.
Pants: Old Navy
Shoes: Cole Haan
Necklace: Walmart
This is clearly a last-minute every-thing-is-in-the-laundry outfit and I considered not even posting it. However, I am here to serve, dear readers. The good and the bad - you get it all!
Do you have a go-to outfit or type of outfit you wear on those sleepy mornings or on laundry day?

Weekend -- Ally
I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I worked Saturday and am going to dinner with Al afterward. I'm far too lazy to change clothes so I dressed up jeans.
Cardi: NY&Co
Graphic t: Target
Gray jeans: Old Navy
Flats: Sam Edelman
Michelle Obama pearls: Walmart
The gorgeous E always looks so cute in her graphic t-shirts with cardigans and I was telling her how I just can't wear the look. Crew necks look awful on me and I just didn't think it'd work. She suggested I wear one with a cardigan or a blazer and I promised I'd try. I think it worked and it is super comfortable.
I'm especially excited about these jeans. They're also SO not my style. I don't do anything other than dark wash denim, but these were on sale back in October for $14 at Old Navy so I gave them a shot. Of course, Old Navy's wonky sizing meant these were WAY TOO SMALL when they arrived. Disgusted, I shoved them in my closet. I found them the other day and thought, "Hum...what the hell!" and they fit! I'm more excited about fitting in the jeans than how they look to be honest. You know how that is! :)
