Fashionable Christmas Gift Presentation

I'm of the belief that your Christmas gifts should reflect who you are. I carefully choose paper every year that looks like "me" and that I can buy or "borrow" matching ribbon for.

This year's selection was red stripes and green polka dots-- coordinating but not matchy matchy. Kinda how I try to dress every day.

The red stripe paper is set off by Christmas lights ribbon and the green but a classic red plaid.

How do you like to wrap your presents?

I am such a terrible wrapper. I inevitably wait for the last possible moment, then really screw it up, then have to give up and do something really shady. For these occasions, I usually keep some gift bags on hand (usually just ones I've gotten presents in and saved!). But once I actually had to wrap up a present in a shower curtain I had stashed in my trunk. I'll spare you the long story of why that was my only choice, but suffice to say, it was NOT pretty. And it was a wedding shower present, even.

I go to Target the day after Christmas and stock up on wrapping stuff for the next year. I use to come up with a theme when I was just giving gifts to my family, but now that I have Dave's also it is just too many present to think about. I love the invention of gift bags because it makes things so much easier! Also, I like to use yarn (the fun kind, not that cheap stuff granny use to crochet with) in lieu of ribbon. You get a ton of it and it is a bit unexpected.

I like to wrap it with classic snowmen and santa paper...my little brother still believes in Santa, so keeping the wrapping paper santa themed is a must!! :) ~Kendra~

I am actually planning to do a whole post on present wrapping! It's one of my favorite parts of Christmas.

Another favorite is the pickle race at my in-laws. My husband nearly knocked down the tree last year in his haste to get to it before his sister! (The man is 27-years-old for goodness sakes!)

OMG, I was going to post a a blog about wrapping too. I am very particular about my gift wrapping. Like my clothes, I like stripes and geometric shapes and simple colors. I chose green diamond pattern and a red large polka dot pattern this year. I try to choose betrwwn 2-3 different robbons and each tagged is written out in different fonts and I only like to use double stick tape so you can hide the tape better. Yeah, I am that obsessed. I'll post a pic on my blog just for you. Love your pretty wrapping and bows!

I too stock up after xmas for next year. One of my great tricks is buying smallish, unbreakable (plastic) ornaments after xmas, and then using them as "Gift toppers". It looks amazing, and is so unexpected. Ball ornaments, snowflakes, even little mini frame ornaments. I even bought out those tiny clip on birds for toppers one year!
Also those little Letter/Initial ornaments, I'll grab whatever is left in the initials of family members... and tie that to the top of their gift as well in leu of a "gift tag". :D
