Thursday -- Ally

This is one of my very favorite dresses. I love the pattern, I love how it fits, I love how I only paid $30 for a designer dress :)

Wrap dress: Max Studio via TJ Maxx

Black lace cami: Old Navy

Belt: NY&Co

Tights: Walmart

Shoes: Steven by Steve Madden

Pearls: gift

S over at Academic Chic wore a top in this same pattern last week and it made me remember my dress. I love how she paired it with purple...I never would have thought of that.

I have a question regarding wrap dresses, ladies: Who the hell can wear these things without a tank under them? Holy crap. If I didn't wear something under mine you'd see my bra and possibly my belly button.

The weather is supposed to be AMAZING this weekend and you can bet there will be some fool who thinks it's summer now. We'll be seeing sundresses, white shoes, and shirts with no sleeves here in Kentuckiana. That's the one thing I dread every year...when the public gets Spring Fever and starts dressing like they're on the beach in 90-degree weather.

I can promise you I won't be going bare-legged or anything of the like because IT IS STILL WINTER. :)

I have to wear a cami or tank or some sort of shell under most of my dresses, moreso due to cleavage showing. It was distracting to guys at work, if you know what I mean. I'm also planning to wear tights for a while, because we have one nice day, then a cold day, then...

That dress is AMAZING on you, lady. And seriously, I think anyone wearing a wrap dress sans cami is employing several rolls of boob tape.

Love this dress! I agree with your comments. I am sure I will see way inappropriate fashion this week. They better watch it or they will end up on my don't list and I may not black bar their face!

Love it! I definitely can't wear a wrap *anything* without some sort of under layer.

Have I told you lately how much I love your hair? because I do.

What a nice dress! You look great in it. What other ways have you worn it? Maybe with a jacket or cardi on top?

LEM - I *totally* know what you mean about distracting cleavage. I'm so short-waisted that I only have about 3 inches between my collarbone and where boobs start - not much to work with!!

Sal - Thanks! YES! Taping in the boobs is a good idea too.

Kendra - Texas is the exception to every rule when it comes to crazy hot weather.

Kimberly - I can't WAIT to see what bad fashion you post about next - it's quickly becoming my favorite feature of your other blog.

Kelly - Thanks!! Did I ever tell you I've been cutting my bangs myself? Tracey is going to KILL ME when she finds out, but you know, I do a good job and the rest of my hair isn't all haggard so I don't see the need to pay $45 for a whole haircut.

Kate - You know, I've only worn this dress two other times I can recall and the only variations have been shoes/hosiery/jewelry. I really want to pair it with a cardi next time!

I couldn't even tell! I wouldn't have the guts to do it, but it looks like you have the hang of it! I totally agree - why spend $45 on a haircut you don't really need when you could spend it on like, some new shoes or something useful like that! :)

I think you have to be fearless and be totally okay w/the fact that you may totally eff up your hair. I'm alright with that. It's the risk you take and the price you pay. I can deal w/weeks of clipping back bangs if I snip too much.

I mean, really. It's okay hair. It'll grow back :)

"only" not "okay"

It's ONLY hair :)

please tell us how you trim you bangs (as if i didn't know)? you know i can also trim bangs anytime. your hair really looks good and i think the color changes with what you are wearing. your parents made a beautiful young lady. albert is so proud of his baby (mama's too)!!!

Aww thanks, Mama :)

Someone asked me the other day if I had colored my hair; they said it looked really dark. I think it was just b/c I had washed it and it wasn't all dirty and pulled back.

You know how I cut my bangs - I think it's all your fault I'm not afraid to take scissors to my hair since I saw you always doing it to yours. However, you're the trained professional and I just am too cheap for a proper haircut.

Ally,

the wrap dress is so cute! Definitely beats my shirt version of this, I'm jealous that you found it in dress format :)

This looks great on you! And you're right - it would be risky business wearing it without a layer underneath. S.

I looove this dress on you! You look so fab. I also have the same issue with the wrap dresses. If I don't have a cami or tank under mine, I sometimes ppin it shut.

I kind of wish I could still wear my cute tights, but it's 80 some odd degrees over here. I have to go bare legged or I'll have a heat stroke on my walk to work.

Good lord, you're getting skinner by the second! You look fabulous, Ally!!! I love, love, love the wrap.
