The Beauty of Original Jewelry

Last week I attended my friend Angela Buschmann's jewelry party. She has 1 to 2 jewelry parties a year where she displays her hard work over the last few months. Everyone knows how much I love jewelry and Ang's work is absolutely brilliant. I recieve more compliments for her pieces and I am happy to brag that it is truly an original! She is currently working on getting website started up, but I had to share a couple of my lovely purchases.

The first piece is off-white balls with an amber rose and for a unique little touch is a tourquois bird. The second piece is an antique rose in a beautiful purple shade with matching earings.

Divided Loyalties -- Leslie

Saturday was one of the most exciting sporting events I've been to. Not because it was a big tournament or game but because I had courtside seats to the NKU vs UofL exhibition game in the brand new Bank of Kentucky Center at NKU.

As many of you know, I was raised and am still a huge UofL fan. But I loved my college experience and tell everyone who will listen how wonderful NKU is. You can imagine how exciting it was to literally be right on the floor sitting in the arena that we helped lobby for when I was in Student Government. We drove through campus before parking and also saw the new Student Union. I was so proud!

I've been thinking for weeks how I was going to equally represent both schools in my attire. The answer arrived with the new yellow cord skirt I found for $10 at Ann Taylor Loft. Pair that with a red turtleneck sweater, a denim jacket and tall black boots and I had both teams covered!

It was Jamie's birthday and we went to the game together (along with my grandmother and father and several of our college buddies who were there as well) and had a great time! I had a business meeting today that was on the casual side, but I didn't want to go too casual-not my style. So I figured I would pair up some jeans with a cute little jacket, jewelry and bag. I don't know about you all, but I am LOVING this cooler weather, it is my excuse to bust out my fall weather clothes. And I am seeing the most of you all are loving it too, looking good!

So who thought I was out of commission?? Well tonight is church and dinner with my grandma AND it is the UK vs. Norfolk State game - so I decided to combo it up. This dress is super comfy and is a perfect fit since we are no longer allowed to wear any sort of shorts at my grandma's dining hall.

September Challenge...

NOW THAT I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION :) As we have been alluding to in recent weeks, it is time for the latest fashion challenge...ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!?!?!?!

Leslie and I attended the University of Louisville vs. University of Kentucky game Sunday and for those who do not know, it is always a true test of our friendship - given I bleed blue and Leslie is a Cards fan through and through. And of course this is not the forum to brag, but I will for one moment; C-A-T-S, Cats! Cats! Cats!

I digress - your challenge my fashionista friends is to dress in your favorite teams colors. This is a wonderful opportunity to mix it up and incorporate some incredible colors. This was always a challenge for me when I worked for the Bengals - 4 years of trying to utilize orange and black without looking like a jack-o-lantern. Feel free to not only work in clothing but accessories like purses, shoes, jewelry etc...Pets are also not to be left out, I know many of us are animal lovers and have some fabulous accessories to show off. Now some of our readers are from Europe, so we are certainly open for you to show off your favorite futbol colors! REMEMBER to let us know what team you are representing!!

Credit Card Safety and Shopping

Good morning! In the midst of my job searching I came across an interesting post from savysugar.com in regards to identity theft from some of our favorite budget conscious stores. I just thought it was a good reminder to be wise with which credit card you use, so no one takes advantage of our hard earned money. Also a great idea to make sure you are educated on your credit card carrier's identity theft policy. I know we focus on showcasing our good fashion sense paired with a good budget, but we also like to look our for our lovely fashionistas!

Hi All! I have a pretty full day today - I am heading to do an Open House with some friends for my Pampered Chef items. We are combining Pampered Chef, Mary Kay, Tastefully Simple and Thirty-One. Anyway, I super excited about this top, it is quite simple and just right for today. Since church on Saturday nights are casual, I can get by with jeans, which is primarily what I have been living in since leaving Intrinzic. I also realize my hair is a little Miss America today but it is really hot out and will fall very quickly. Thank goodness the humidity is not high or my hair turns into Monica Bing. If you get that reference, you are true Friends fan :)

Lunch with friends - well I am back from N. Ohio. Here is my little cousin Bella - she said and I quote "Jamie you sit and let me read my Peoplezine" Ha!

Anyway, had lunch with my old co-worker/friend Nicole. I am so lucky my jeans still fit after a week of my grandma and aunt Bonnie's cooking. This top I bought at Target and it fits so comfy and the pink is a great color that I can wear into the fall. The shoes are surprisingly comfortable wedges that go perfectly with the top. Again, the belly was a little bloated so we went with the belt! Ha!

My first day of unemployment! Whoo hoo! Regardless, I refuse to walk around in sweats all day, I can still look cute :)

I am off to run some errands and have dinner with a friend tonight, so I figured jeans and a comfortable top will do. I am going to Chipotle for dinner so I definitely needed a shirt with some "give", because I just can't say no to a burrito! I am also all about the hat thing this week, I LOVE hats and wear them a lot, especially when the hair is looking a little funky.

My shoes were a lovely $14.99 purchase from Payless, the shirt was from TJ Maxx for $9.99 and jeans are vinatage. The most special piece of this outfit is my necklass, it has some history. This is circa 1960's given to me from my grandma Jo. Isnt it classic?

The versaltility of them is just great. You know the moment I am talking about ladies when you find that pair of shoes that you know is just the perfect fit! Ahhh sigh!

Hello from Jamie

Hello all! I apologize for the MIA this week, but it has been my last week here at Intrinizic, and it has been range of emotions - so ala no client meetings, it has been a week of jeans and flip flops (yes, the ones from Old Navy). Leslie and I were joking that I will be showcasing the new look for summer - titled: Jamie-Unemployed! HA! But a shout-out to Toni and Ashley, I hear ya and I will posting more, don't you worry!

Next week I will be posting "on location" from the fashion capital of the Northeastern Ohio Region - Fowler/Vienna Ohio (google Fowler/Vienna Ohio and you will understand my sarcasm). I may even have an adorable guest blogger for you. She's cute, pint sized, and ever the little fashionista.

So for today, I am posting a couple recent purchases from Target and Macy's. I tame emotions through retail therapy. I am really excited for these pieces because they can be easily worn with shorts or jeans, flip flops, sandals or heels. Granted, they do look better on, but I wanted to give you the feel. The top has some awesome detail to it with neon aqua stripes and is a wonderful fit. The cotton dress is perfect for the hot weather that is here. I could not pass them up and I got a good deal!

It's a rainy day here in the Cincy/NKY area, so I saw this as an excuse to break out my favorite jacket! This was such a great find - JC Penny for $30, yes that's right! And Ms. Leslie can attest that it is super cute.

Skirt was a great sale rack find at Target about 2 years ago. You can't go wrong with black and white. My bag has to be one of my most interesting purchases. We went on a Bahamas cruise back in February and I purchased this at one of the markets in Nassau. You know they try and sell the knock offs and I think this was supposed to be a Dolce and Gabbana (according to the little pin on the front). Well we decided that it was too cute of a bag and I can just pull the pin off. I use it for so much!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend! You will please have to excuse the puffy face this morning. We have a cold front that has come through NKY and it has brought every allergy possible to me :)

This dress is by far one of my absolute fav purchases. Leslie has this exact same one. If you have never been to a Cabi party, you must go. They have awesome pieces, great staples!

I am absolutely in LOVE with my bag. Now I it was a very nice present from my family. It is a Brahmin bag and I have to admit it is not the most financially sound purchase, but it's SO PRETTY!

BTW - We are fastly approaching the 4th of July holiday weekend and that means SALES! So keep an eye on your circulars. I know Macy's is having a huge shoe sale this weekend. I unfortunately and am on the job search so I will not be going, but I look forward to seeing if anyone finds any good deals.

Hello there my lovely fashionistas!

I have been quite the MIA lately and I am sorry but I was taken over by the most awful bug that kicked my butt for a total of two weeks. So during this time, I have not been cute in any way shape or form. However, the mighty bug has not stopped my shopping sense.

The Levee has a cute little shop called Tala and I never had been in there to look around (yes, I know I have worked at the Levee for over a year now). Anyway, I have found this ADORABLE purse and got it for $20 (thank goodness for Levee 10% discount!).

And thank you for a little peek into your closet Trae, so I am going to let you all take a peek into mine. The story of my closet goes like this...I have a spare bedroom in the basement of my home and after my parents moved out (they lived with me for 6 months) I did not want this room to turn into a junk room, so I decided to make it a closet. So I invested approximately $75 in clothing racks at Target (holla!). This has been SO easy for me since my laundry room is downstairs. I love being able to see and what I have and being able to pull outfits together. I turned the "closet" area of the room for my shoe room. By far my favorite room in the house!

Well I plan on being more frequent in my posts now. I do not wish that sickness on anyone! TAKE YOUR VITAMINS :)

I have been waiting since my cruise to wear this skirt. I LOVE it. It is a beautiful, albeit hot, day here in NKY and I thought a skirt was appropriate. Our AC at work has been questionable lately, so I never know what I am walking into, so I have brought a jean jacket, just in case.

All of us agree that we can find some really cute shoes at Target and these are no different, I love these shoes. I told you heels are my one true love!

Ok! I am back on the mend. This is the smile of a girl who had herself a nice big breakfast, since I didn't eat for two days due to the stomach bug. Realizing that this is not the most flattering shot but I was in a hurry :)

I took full advantage of the Ann Taylor Loft Store moving out of the Florence Mall last month and they had all these linen trousers on sale for $29.99. It was a great find especially for the summer looks for work.

During the last year of my new job, I have put on some weight, so certain "tricks" I have had to learn. Layering is ALWAYS and I love the belt trick on the button up shirts.

Since my love of heels has wreaked havoc on my back, I have had to force myself into the world of flats (Don't worry heels, you are my one true love!). I found these awesome, simple black flats at Wal-Mart and couldn't believe it! I would love to give a shout out to Ashley (Leslie's sister) for the tip!

I am a HUGE accesories geek. I love, love, love bags and purses! I got this at Francesca's Boutique in Crestview Hills. I always can find a good deal there!

Four Races, 2 Cookouts and 1 Movie...Well my scheduled Saturday of cleaning turned into a fun filled day of horse racing, delicious homemade food and one very lame scary movie. So what was a girl to wear? I picked the most comfortable and simple outfit to meet the needs of all my events for the day.

I think my purse is my favorite part of this outfit. I literally stopped in my tracks at JC Penny while shopping with my grandma. A quilted bag! Holy smokes! Now I covet the Chanel quilted bag that LC on the Hills has, but lord knows my pocket book cannot fathom that - unless a boyfriend gives it to me like Jason gave LC her's. I digress. This bag is made by Worthington and is a beautiful summer white. I get more compliments on it.
